I have had some time with my BK 24 now and am really impressed with it. It takes an awesome edge and stays sharp longer then my wife stays mad.... Impressive to say the least!!! It got me thinking about my BK16 which is probably my most liked/used becker knife and as good as the 1095 cv is I would like to see a run done in D2. I think it would be an awesome blade with amazing capabilities. Any one else here feel the same?

I wouldn't mind a 16 in D2, however I am pretty picky about D2 as I have used some really good D2 and some really bad D2.

D2, Elmax, CPM 3V, all of the above! I'd buy a second or a third of every Becker I own.

KaBar had some exceptional D2 of SOME KIND for the BK24s

a version in BK16 is natural

wait for it

no promises though :D

but if they do it, DO NOT BITCH ABOUT THE PRICE, I AM WARNING YOU :D

just buy it

I like the 16, and I like well done D2... that said, I don't know that the 16 would be my choice for a new D2. Don't get me wrong, I'd probably buy it anyway.

There's always someone out there tempting me with the idea of investing in more blades :)

I will probably never buy another blade in D2.
too abrasion resistant, too brittle. Perhaps there is a perfect balance, but by the numbers I prefer other steels.
In CPM3V? Hubba-hubba.

The only downside I could see to 3V would be cost, not just steel cost but from what I have read that stuff eats belts for breakfast. I think D2 is logical simply because there is already one knife being made in it, however if we are going for other steels I would vote for A2 above 3V. It offers better everything when compared to 1095CV but at a much lower cost than 3V.

neither will I, good ol 1095 is IMO the perfect choice for a hard use fixed blade and its much easier (quicker) to touch up in the field.
