It is a guard prototype.
This one made of 316 Stainless Steel. Ring is 1-1/8" by 9/16" (outside), 7/8" front-to-back, 1-1/2" front plate height.
1/16" thickness all around. TIG welded with 316 filler rod so it should not show any seam at all. I can do 304\316\410 Stainless.
Total weight of the shown guard is 0.8oz (22g).
I plan to offer them for $25 shipped (single) and $20 each with $5 combined shipping (bundle).

Let me know what size (outside dimensions), material and wall thickness you'd like to see.
I can do round ring+front plate, oval ring+front plate. The front plate could be rectangular so you can shape it to your liking (it will be cheaper, however the weld will be visible unless you take care of it).
I do not plan to make a hole in the front plates for the blade as all the blades are different. However I can make some "standard" rectangular hole. Let's say 1/8" by 3/4".
Let me know what material you'd like to see. I thought about Ti, but the price might be higher. I am interested in your feedback anyway.

Those look great and the price more then right. If one were wanting a slightly tapered one (From top to bottom ) I guess we would ask for a thicker wall, or would it be possible to make tapered ones?

Tapered like an egg? It is doable.
What wall thickness you'd like to see?
If I make the walls 1/8" and the guard is 3/4" and the blade is 1/8" it leaves not much room for the handle. Especially considering that I usually make the handle less than 3/4" (left-to right).

Ok, I'll make a couple in 1/8". Egg shaped profile.
How about the ring height?

The question I was asking about your guards was for future reference, I really am not ready for one at this point, but am hoping in the future I will be able to use your design.
I have searched the internet and knife supplies for guards and nothing I have found looks very appealing. Yours on the other hand look promising. Was just thinking how a tapered design something similar to some of the finer large bowies out there would be vary nice to have.
Thanks

If the inside was 5/16"x5/8" with the same outside dimensions, they would be quite popular, as they could be filed/ground down to final size without worrying about going too deep. I would be up for a handful of them in single and double guard configuration in 410.

Not at all. I typically mill the back of the guard 1/16" wider than the tang on each side, and fill with jb weld. So a 1/4" tang would have a 3/8" wide spacing at the back of the guard. The jb weld would have no problem with the extra gap. This could be a real time saver.
