anyone interested in the Rock Salt?

Joshua J, Your going to EDC the rock salt or the forester? In the city? You got guts man. The forester's blade is 9 1/8 inches of blade alone. Wow.

I'm lucky if I pass through a "city" more than once a month, so it's not much of an issue.
When visiting a large population base I would stow the knife in the car, depending on where I go.

My issue is the price as well but I think it was not expensive enough. I understand why they used FRN to keep the price from being even higher but if you are going to use some top notch and very bleeding edge steel then go all the way with micarta or a nice cocobolo.
Maybe only make a limited number but then have a VG10/FRN version for the cheapskates.
Maybe that Italian steel N690 like the woodlander?

I see the Rocksalt as another spydie that gets a small very oyal cult following but not the big sales numbers. Also I live in a dry climate so I don't worry enough about rust for
the H1 steel to be a better choice than a good tool steel. Unless you live near the coast
in a warm climate rust is not nearly as big a deal as some people think. Most firearms are carbon steel and rarely do people worry about them rusting.

I know they typically use FRN on the salt series because it works well with water/salt water.

Are other handle materials good too in the water?

The price has also plummeted on the Rock Salt and I would jump on it with the new price.

H1 is supposed to very tough, rust proof, as well as costly in materials and manufacturing.

The fact that this is a good chunk of H1 should make it a major contender in the fixed blade market at it's current price.
