I am talking with Bob about creating a special run of Sifus without the extra finger grooves and in Modified D-2. The pic above is not real, amazing what you can do in Photoshop huh? Anyway this is just a rough idea of what we are looking at doing.

All I want is feed back on the project. We have not set price or anything as yet so give us your thoughts.

I like it..
Seems that it (could) be more comfortable than the stock Sifu..

I'm not a big fan of finger grooves,,although I understand why they are there..
I do like the first finger groove idea though..

Anyone have one of the pictures of the Sifu that Booshank modified? That's the one I'd like to see made - extremely sexy! Not that Mike did a bad job, but Booshank's was baaaaaaad to the boooooonnnnne!

I'm quite satisfied w/ my stock SIFU, love the finger groves a bunch, but in D-2, I'll gata get me one of those bad puppies

In the image w/both Sifu's, the modified one is not quite finished but I had to take the pic 'cause I was only borrowing the other Sifu for comparison.
Besides removing most of the finger grooves, the modified Sifu also had some extra chamfering done to it and I ground down the lump in the blade a little.
Bob's cad image is pretty close although mine has a little less curve where the finger grooves used to be. I might still grind a very slight "counter curve" in the back of the handle btwn the last two handle screws 'cause I find my palm there a lot and it might help retention under some circumstances.
 
It looks nice and clean but for those of us that like to grip our Sifu aft of the first finger groove adding a second one would add some retention.So how about a pic of one with 2 finger grooves.

It looks like Booshank has a small second groove which looks really cool. Maybe we can incorporate that.

I love the current config of the production Sifu's, and I like the look of what you're proposing as well. D2 would be phenomenal in either case. Maybe if it comes to pass, Mr. Taylor might consider selling D2 blades to retrofit into the ones we've already got

M2 would be better though. Or CPM 420...
