Anyone interested in W2 bar? rough or blanchard ground?

Ok,

so far I got 2 cutting quotes:

$50 per slice via giant bandsaw

$27 per slice via waterjet


Say we sliced the 24 x 4 x 1.5 bar into (14) 1.5 x 0.25 x 24 strips (the WJ kerf will be as wide as 0.045"). At $140 per bar from Aldo, thats $10 per stick, just for the steel.

14 bars would take 13 cuts, so thats another $351 to $650 of cutting.

So my cost for rough 1/4" sticks is $35 each, minimum. Thats before any mark-up, and not including any grinding.

I'll assume we're no longer interested - speak-up if I'm mistaken.
