Anyone Knifemakers Forging in Southern California?

I'm new around here, so hello! My name is Christian Bryant. I'm also new to knifemaking. I am curious if any of you guys out there are, or know of anybody forging blades in the Southern California area who wouldn't mind sharing some knowledge. I have built a small charcoal forge and have forged one knife from a file so far, but could really use some pointers from someone who knows the ins and outs of the craft.

I would also like to thank those responsible for this forum and everyone who contributes to it. In the very short time I have been here it has been an incredible source of inspiration and information.

Welcome CB! I've been looking for someone in the San Diego area... I'd be interested if anybody is in my area as well.

CB, Southern California Blades http://www.scblades.com is in your back yard. They should be able to hook you up with members in your area. I'd suggest you go to one of their monthly meetings. It's a little far for me to drive on a Tuesday night but you might be able to swing it... Seems there are a fair amount of makers in your general area.

You might try Red St Cyr or Bill Herndon. They are both in SC Blades.
