Anyone know any other cheap but quality brands?

The ones that always come to mind are Muela, Condor, and I believe EKA (?). Lastly, check out Billabong blades, not cheap but a very good quality for a good price, handmade too.

Take a look at walther . Beretta . Glock . Karesvando . Eka . Woodjewal . Buck . Imo

Schrade is making better stuff nowadays. Don't get anything from their smith and Wesson line. In general stick away from knives named after gunmakers unless it's an H&K. Cold steel makes some cheap stuff too. Victorinox has some models that pop up here on the exchange often, and if you watch long enough you'll find lots of great things here for $10 or $15!!

Seconds on Cold Steel. I know they're not made the US but the bang you get for your buck is hard to beat. I got a Cold Steel assegai recently and it's an incredible piece, for about $40. I picked up a GI Tanto on the forums here and it's also exceptionally well put together, and that goes for around $20 elsewhere on the 'net.

If you can get your hands on a Okapi too they're great. Real authentic pieces, I've got mine from a market in Durban, SA.

Svord peasant, mini-peasant, and EDC hiker are nice and inexpensive. Sharpens up great and slices like a laser!

Condor makes a good knife for the money .

You can get some good online deals on certain Case knives.
I got a NIB yellow derlin with CV steel Pen knife from the bay for $20.98 shipped a few weeks ago.

edit- I also feel a SAK is a great value. An Alox Cadet is one of the better buys out there IMO.
Many good suggestions in this thread. I need to take a look at a few of them myself.

AG Russell has a lot of affordable items, like the Hunters Scalpel and Woodswalker.

The Germal-made pocketknives from Boker in carbon steel are a bargain in traditional pocketknives.

Santa brought my boy an imported KaBar hunting knife - stacked leather handles and a thick durable sheath. The build quality is very good, and only $27 for the Little Fin model.

And of course always look for sales and closeouts on Victorinox, Wenger, and Case.

Previously owned knives, can't overlook the original USA-made Schrade Old Timers. The real bargains here are found among the smaller common models like the 104OT, 108OT, 12OT, 18OT...

Should not discount SanRenMu. I have a few of their knives and they are really nice and dirt cheap.

Check out the Victorinox Bantam. Spearpoint blade and a bottle opener with a screwdriver tip.

Most that I could think of have already been mentioned, so I'll add Bee knives. I bought one with the axis lock and green micarta handles that was great. After sharpending it I gifted it to a friend that works at a ranch and he has used it hard without problems (except chipping of the edge, probably because of the 17dps angle I sharpened it at).

Go to Baryonyx Knives, run by a forum member here. You'll find lots of others along with the 2 you mentioned. Great service, excellent prices.

I would say "inexpensive but quality brands."

Do yourself a favor and get a COAST FX350, you will not regret it. Outstanding framelock folder, for more expensive you will not be disappointed in Kizer brand. keepem sharp

It looks like it might be made by Enlan, which are also excellent knives for around $15 -$ 20.00.
