Anyone know anything about Bill Coffey knives?

I am hoping some BF members can shed some light on knife maker, Bill Coffey out of Clovis CA.

I am looking at one of his knives, but I have done some investigating and am coming up with a very mixed bag of information, ranging from a few sales on top notch custom dealer sites and praise on BF when he was a member, to a more disturbing but nonsensical accusation, and an apparent flame war, also on BF. There was a similar request made on BF many years ago with zero responses. Can anyone provide more info? Hard for me to determine if this is someone I want to do business with even if it is indirectly.
