Anyone know California Property Law?

Believe it or not, I believe he can legally peer over his wall as much as he wants as long as he stays on his property. And I believe I can shoot a laser pointer directly into his eye. I think that last part is in the legal code...
 
Sounds like dude may have mental issues, unkempt property, ladder to 2nd story roof, ladder on wall looking into your property. From personal experience I would think long and hard before getting into a pissing match with this person. Look up the county PVA (Property valuation website) and take a look at who's name is on the deed to the property then have your property surveyed. At that point you can decide how screwed you are or how much you want to screw with him. I once drew down on a psycho neighbor with a side-by-side shotgun I would rather not have had to do that!
 
I agree with Oldschool, from what you tell us, the guy sounds completely unreasonable. Don't you hate neighbors? Mine kicked down part of the fence and let my dogs into their yard when I wasn't home. Then they yelled at my sister something about
"we have a baby! we can't have your dogs running around here!" After the fence was clearly kicked in from their side...

Anyways,do whatever you can to resolve this peacefully, but be careful when dealing with weirdos. Maybe you could build your own privacy wall as close to his as you can, but make it even taller :)
 
Just remember: regardless of what the law says, regardless of what color the wall ends up, regardless of whose wall it actually is, when all is said and done, he's still gonna be your neighbor. And in this real estate market, that's not likely to change soon.
