Anyone know definitively, what the best brand of duck tape is?

What a great thread. Thanks for posting this question. I've used gorilla tape and like it, but I really want to try the 3m stuff now. Their masking tape is top quality.
 
Not an answer specifically regarding the best. But my daughter has been using duct tape to make crafts... at the rate she goes through a roll.. we go with the cheap stuff. dozens of patterns available now.

If I was fixing something important 3M brand tapes have always treated me well.
 
Best look ever (almost) was the day I got to fill an entire shopping cart full of tape at a home depot. It was glorious!
