Of what origin and level of quality is this knife? (If it is junk, it looks fairly restrained in styling compared to most junk knives):

And why are you interested in the make and quality of a knife used to kill "...four homeless men in what they called a serial thrill-kill spree in late 2011 and early 2012." :thumbdn:

Hardly the kind of this that casts knives in a positive light. ONly serves to feed the stereotypes.

In case he has to kill somebody, he'll already know what works. :p

It's already in the news. I can't imagine discussing it here will stereotype our hobby much more negatively.

Thanks Max. It always fascinates me that most knives used by criminals are always some cheap junk that I have no clue what it is... I'm not even sure where they get that stuff... This one seemed a little bit above average, so I was curious.

"Positive light" marcinek? Like knife-adverse Joe public often scrolls Bladesforums?

OK. So did the guy stab or slice? Either way I'd say a KaBar would do the job capably. I certainly enjoy my Kabar Dozier large folding hunter for EDC tasks. But if slicing was the goal,, I'd think a full flat grind would work better.
