Anyone like driving?

I've always loved driving, even though I'm on the worst states to drive in; California.
I've always enjoyed cars whatever budget I'm on.
I've had fun in compact cars muscle cars passenger cars luxury cars and offroad cars. I just love being to enjoy the vehicle for it's intended purpose, usually just to drive.

My current car let's me drive to places with my dogs that doesnt have traffic.

I'm closing in om 70 yrs old, so grew up during the first golden age of musclecars. Grew up in a fairly rural area of Central NJ. Nearly ALL of my friends, classmates , neighbors, etc....were in to hot cars. I was fortunate to have very understanding parents who allowed a 19 yr old to live at home for free as his Corvette payment and insurance payments took up 70% of his meager income.

Had several decent musclecars from 396 Chevelles to smallblock Corvettes.

I was fortunate in later years to know a Gentleman who was part owner in an exotic car dealership, so got plenty of wheel time in 80s and 90's Ferraris and Lambos.

In the early 90's I came into contact with one of the editors/writers for Car & Driver, Larry Griffin. I was a MT Highway Patrolman and stopped Larry one day. We got talking cars, Montanas "reasonable & Prudent" speed limit , etc. I was featured in a 1994 article when Larry rode along with me in the Montanabahn when we had no numerical, daytime limit. For years to come Larry occasionally showed up with some VERY fun iron; BMW M-series, the occasional Ferrare, Mercedes , etc.

Had bikes for many years from Harleys, to BMW tourers and a few crotch rockets as well, and several various Hondas, Suzukis and Ducati's.

Currently have a 2017 SS Camaro. Tremendous performance for the money. We are truly living in the SECOND great age of American Muscle.

From the Dodge HellCat/Demon, to another Ford CobraJet & GT (GT40 but not really 40"), all the way to a mid engine Corvette. You sir are correct. (ZR1 & the 300 hp Camry not excluded)

I need to take a pic of my 2009 audi s5. Sweet car although heavy. But what a sound from that v8! As it happens today I drove a 2001 porsche turbo and a 2008 bmw "dinan 3" 335i and neither made me jealous. But honestly the most fun car I ever had was a 2001 audi s4, with the EU flashed that thing just walloped you in the back with its torque but had 4 doors an awd! Alas it was a nightmare to maintain.

I had a 2012 Camaro. Just the v6 so nothing crazy.

I loved the car and I’m not sure if they have fixed it at all on the newer ones but on my 2012 the visibility from the driver’s seat was terrible. Especially blind spot checking the left side out of those tiny little rear windows.

Living in the city with tons of traffic on the highway making a left hand lane change was a leap of faith many times. I would be like, I’m pretty sure it’s clear, but can’t be 100% sure.

Agreed on the poor visibility, but I think it's been discussed far too much, same with the lack of back seat room. Try any of the older Lambos from the Muira's on up...TERRIBLE outward visibility. Who cares!

I keep my mirrors properly adjusted and the rare times I'm in traffic, my heads on a swivel. I'm unconcerned over the rear visibility issue as I live in rural Montana. I'm more concerned of whats in FRONT of me...that suicidal deer or elk while I'm going 80-85 . We have an 80 mph limit on the interstates and 70 on most of the other roads. So we get going fairly fast out here.

I can surely relate though if one is in the City...but the avoidance/proximity warning system I hear is pretty good. Mine is a 1SS, I don't have any of the 2SS electronics. I went cheap, wanted an under $30K car. So went 1SS, my only extra options were the color and the performance exhaust.

Just turned 40, and I've been mostly on my own since 18. Since age 16 I'm on my 9th car. I've always loved cars, trucks, etc. I have a hard time resisting the urge to modify or upgrade.

Of the 9, the last four we're my favorites, and they range all over the place as far as type of vehicle. But being 6'4", and recovering from so much medical stuff, I'm thankful to have an SUV.

I highly doubt I could get in and out of my 1992 Camaro or the Kia Forte. I've posted pics before.

Currently, I love my 2011 Kia Sorento SX. I bought in 2015, 22k on it. It has everything but AWD. It's the first car I haven't done something to, except I just put a K&N filter in.

I used to do a lot of the work myself. Whether it's performance, audio, regular maintenance, I love it.

I'm probably the only person to modify and take a Ford Escape mudding. Only pics I have are after a lot of the mud washed off from the rain, but here is a decent one.

I had a 2011 kia sorento as well, 4 cylinder. It was a pretty damn good car.

That 3.5l is underrated a 276 hp. It'll chirp the tires in first and second. In an automatic, and not in manual shift mode.im guessing more like 300 if not more, stock.

In 2002, we got married in a drive-through in Vegas. Drove the 289 from San Jose to Vegas the night before. It's exactly my age, 65 was a good year :)

(scan from a Polaroid, the wedding photo and the rose were part of the service :) )

Fast forward 17 years. Still have the 289 (how could I not?), but for towing, plus 2 larger dogs, the GL450 works better.
