I'm looking to go sea kayaking in a few months ad wondered If there were any companys that make mutitools out of corrosion resistant steels. I would hate to get my wave rusty cuz they dont make gen 1's anymore :thumbdn: :thumbdn:
does anyone know how bad I can expect my leatherman to rust on a 3 week trip. I don't expect to have many chances to clean it. I'll probably buy a new one anyway.
I use Tuf-Glide on my multi-tools and knives. Having them soaked in sweat daily in my pocket during summertime, none showed any rust. I gave them a good cleaning about once every week or two. Get a small bottle of Tuf-glide and a Marine cloth to take with you and keep the tool in a ziplock bag.
I'm sure I've seen stainless multitools somewhere in a sailing catalogue. Sorry I can't rememeber where, but I know I've seen them. I'll post it here if I can find a link.
