I dont have a torch of any kind and am unable to solder the brass guard onto the knife. Is anyone able to help me? You can reply here or give me a call, numbers are in my signature.

heck, a heat gun (hair dryer on steroids) will do it if your using the right solder and flux

just takes a little patience (which is a good thing here)

you can pick up a cheap torch setup with propane (camp style) and a torch from walmart for $20.

Snody Knives is in Corpus

If it is a nice tight fit use JB Weld. Seals great and easy clean up, acetone and kleenex. Use regular JB, a large amount will not be needed, allow to sit for 30-45 minutes, then clean up excess with a wooden toothpick followed by kleenex dipped in acetone to make a clean joint.

If all else fails I'll go with the JB weld. Thanks for the tips. I'm gonna try and give Mike Snody another call but hes hard to get a hold of and he did move his shop out to Victoria.

Thanks, was just on his website. Called him up after you posted the number and I'll head over there tomorrow with the blade and guard. Can't wait to get my new bank card in so that I can pay for my pre-order from TKS for the handle and pommel and get the kydex sheath made. This time I ordered the foam and am going to do it by hand. Will post pics when done.

If it was me ide just go buy the torch and some silver solder /flux and giver heck . There is another thing you need as well its to help keep heat away from the blade and a type of resist so solder wont stick to unwanted parts. Thats just me . kellyw
