Anyone Not Like the Skyline

What's not too like? It has grippy G10 handles, it's thin and light and one heckuva slicer. A bargain at twice the price. :)

Okay, check this out............... I LOVE THE SKYLINE, I would probably rate it as the best flipper thus far, especially hands down in its price point range...

My wife bought my first one 1 1/2 yrs ago, I've cut everything under the sun with it.. literally, lead roof jacks, roofing shingles/paper, plastic, drywall, cardboard and everything in between..

I recently picked up another one that was slightly used here on the exchange, I paired it up to my beater and:eek:WOW, my blade has shrank in every direction..

I will take and post pics later.. not enough nice to say about the skyline....

however it really needs a new clip as it rides to high for my liking, I'm going to try and modify mine for deep pocket carry..

for what it is the skyline cannot be beat......
you can see the difference in wear on the blade

I have the one with Damascus and it is one of my favorite Kershaw knives of all time. There is nothing about that knife I do not like.

The Skyline keeps coming up on my Amazon recommendations. I was passing it over for a while. I didn't realize that Kershaw's were made stateside. I've since posted this on my wishlist. I'm wanting a slim, fast EDC. Right now it's between this and the Buck Vantage. Hell. I'll probably end up with both.

I have two, and each requires a pretty strong flick of the wrist to open. Its a decent knife for the money, but in my view not so awesome a knife that everyone must have one.

I liked my Skyline so much I figured it was worthy to be the first high quality modern folder to give to my nephew back at Christmas! He graduates HS in less then a month, then he'll also find that he got my old LH min-Task since he is left handed!

One of my favorites. Id like to see a slightly beefed up version. I prefer a tad bit more weight. If kershaw could make a skyline 2 with Tim's pro series as a template, I'd be in heaven.

you need to loosen the pivot screw a tad.. I can open both mine without flicking the wrist... I took out the screw put some blue loctite and adjusted just before there was blade wobble and still has retention..

I have both, the vantage is like twice the weight but rides low in the pocket absolutely beautiful design IMO, love mine and have been carrying it now for 2 weeks exclusively.. otoh, the skyline weights near nothing and its size make it extremely usable you can choke up easily for say an apple where the vantage is bigger and harder to use for delicate work..

again my only grip with the skyline is it rides high.... both excellent knives.........!! s30v though holds up really well :D

The only drawback of the Skyline is the thumb studs, I can't open the knife with it. Only the flipper seems to work fine with me.

If you are a lefty the knife isn't very lefty friendly. If you are right-handed, no need to worry about it.

I bought my brother two, and on both of them the clip became irreparably loose. The first time one of the screws stripped, and the second time the screws somehow enlarged the holes they were put through, so the clip jiggled around.

Other than that, it's a very good light EDC, I just probably use it for anything very hard.

I bought one, along with a Zing and an OD-1 when they showed up at my local Wally World. Made in USA, no AO (a personal preference thing), decent steel, excellent EDC's for light knife days. As such, the Skyline has gotten far and away more carry than the other two. A great little knife for khaki or shorts days.

I've handled quite a few and have yet to see any major problems I'd say there a bit basic but a solid buy for the money, the damascus skylines look incredible and are pretty affordable also.

I do love my skyline, however if I could get one in CPM 154, a lower riding clip and a ti frame-lock , I would love it even more. It is a very nice EDC knife but if it were a little more sturdy I would carry it more often. Been carry a CS american lawman cause I don't think I will ever even stress its lock. However for the price, weight and size you cant get much better than the skyline.

I really like my Skyline, easy to carry and you get the typical Kershaw quality for a low price .Mine came very sharp out of the box. My Zing did not. This is a very nice EDC option.

I love my Skyline. Super light and really sturdy, considering what it weighs.

I absolutely hated the Zing, liked the OD-1, but the Skyline is great.

Fires open like an auto, too. Really fast, every single time. Just remember, as with all non-assisted flippers, press IN, dont sweep down.

I use some gun oil in the pivot area and it makes it much smoother....opens very quickly without a wrist flick and still has nice lock-up. I love mine...its my EDC today :D.
