I just ordered up a new Benchmade Laro 82 and I was just wondering if anyone here owns one and how you might like it? Maybe post a pic or two?

I'm not a flipper and probably will never be but I wanted to add a Bali-Song to the collection and this one called to me! I like the stubby, EDC style and the overall look of it!

Just looking for some discussion while I wait for USPS to do it's thing...LOL!

I have one and i like it. I haven't carried it for awhile though. I grew up in the 80s and 90s so butterfly knives have a special place in my heart lol. I had a few crappy one's when i was a kid and wanted one a few years ago but nothing really jumped out to me until i saw the Laro at the local store and just had to have it.

I did drop it a few times flipping it and the pop open latch doesn't work anymore. I do need to sharpen it, it's pretty dull.

I work at a hockey rink and unfortunately most of my coworkers are teenagers and they had no idea what a butterfly knife was, it was pretty funny seeing the look and their faces.

I picked up a Laro 82 in a trade last year. It is shorter than my krake rakens, but it still feels great.
Yes! I am really enjoying mine! All the old 80's and 90's butterfly knives I hade were this size so it feels really good to me! I'm not sure I could deal with the longer Bali's of today, LOL! I have no plans to be a "Flipper" just trying to relive my youth!

I do not recall the size of the knives i had when i was a kid. The 5" offerings caught my eye a few years ago but not enough for me to buy one. For whatever reason the Laro called my name immediately.

Speaking of childhood weapons; I did have a random thought the other day of picking up a set of sai, and nunchucks lol.

I wish I saved all that stuff! I bought a set of vintage Valor Japanese Shuriken for more than I care to admit...LOL! Here is one of them...

LOL

That pic reminded me i still have my throwing stars i bought at a gun show when i was 16 lol. It was easier back then to buy the fun stuff.

Edit to ad:
I used posters to cover up the target areas on the walls and doors in my room. When i moved out my dad called slightly miffed there were holes everywhere 😆

Haha...same! That was the real reason for all those Lamborghini Countach posters, LOL!

82 looks so nice and refined, seems like a great size for EDC.

The ninja star is bringing back youth memories of the local Army Navy store, and accidentally hitting myself in the face with foam nunchucks.

I’m considering picking one up.
Recently gotten in to Balis, and understandably, most are between 9 & 10” OAL for flipping ease.

I think the shorter length of the Laro is a nod towards less flipping and more actual EDC use.
It also looks less “scary” to other people who may be around.
