Anyone OWN a Cold Steel Urban Dart?

I read this thread through post for post real carefull. Im pretty sure that most people dont know which knife is being discussed. The cold steel urban dart is very new. It is not the plastic thing that Cold Steel makes. It is the steel version of that. So when people say that they had it overseas and taped to a bed I dont think they know what knife the thread starter is talking about.

Strider does not make a dart. But it does make alot of dagger/shiv type weapons.

The Urban dart is not really a dart, it is a different type than the triangular weapon that pat crawford makes as well.

Also it looks much bigger and menacing in the photos than it does in person. It is small in person. It is just a dagger. Functionaly no different than any other small conceable dagger.

It is as good as any other dagger for self defense.

One uses a knife in self defense by hurting people with it. Or killing them. A dagger is a good design for hurting or killing and thus for self defense.

If you're hot to try one for fit and feel, you can get the Nightshade equivalent made by Cold Steel for $9USD and form your own opinion. It's called the Cold Steel FGX Jungle Dart. We would love to hear your considered review, though.

Beware Botach. I've had mixed results from them as a business, and a quick internet search seems to indicate I was one of the lucky ones.

I just found out from CS that the Jungle Dart fits he Urban Dart sheath. That's great news!

Hi Shipwreck,

My apologies. My first post.

I was just using the site to show the photo of the knife. I thought if someone wanted to find out how the knife handles, a plastic version might fill his needs.

I will not post again.

Cold Steel also sells the delta dart for way cheaper. I don't have the urban dart in the metal, but I have the nightshade series model. The handle is really easy to grip, I think it's that rubbery kraton stuff. I say go for it.

The Nightshade version is the 'Jungle Dart'. It's measurement is so close to the Urban Dart that they are NEARLY interchangeable inside the sheath. Use the Jungle Dart to train and demo. The angles that make up the point on these two products are so acute, it makes the point the very most delicate on any spike I've ever seen. This is obviously going be be advantageous in an accurate launch but if the Urban Dart hits bone or any hard object, I'm guessing it will either deform or break at the tip. After 3 stabs into a Yellow Pages, the Jungle Dart point went from piercingly 'sharp' to dull as a ball point pen. I haven't tried the Urban Dart on Phone Books yet- though word is it beats out most spikes for penetration.

Thanks, I didn't remember that it was called the jungle dart, but it's cool it fits the sheath so when I get around to getting an urban dart, I'll be able to switch the two around. I've only pierced some single sheets with it. What metal is the urban dart made of? Maybe that will help the tip retention, or aim for a fleshy spot, lol.
