Anyone picked up any of the new CS knives

Yep saw the Savson ad on line but also was warned to stay away and I am. I'll wait til another dealer has some in stock before I spring for one. Thanks and keepem sharp

Welp if you look at cold steels site youd see that most of them are listed as not in stock till 3/31/08 or 4/30/08 and the med espada isnt coming till 7/30/08. Sorry if I ruined your thread because I dont have any of these not available knives.

they are not in stock at the place I usually go however:

if you don't already know, the titanium ti-lites with vg-1s are now discontinued, pick one up if you don't have one already!

I picked one up and I'm fairly impressed with it. They are replacing them with aluminum handled ones (even 6 inch) with AUS-8.

My dealer has a copy of the new catalog, and I was browsing through it, I noticed they seem to be coming out with mainly AUS-8 models, I wonder why they seem to be stepping away from the VG-1s? I'm thinking maybe they can't compare at pricepoint to the Spyderco VG-10s (better steel, cheaper price). Now I wonder if they can start comparing to the Byrds with their AUS-8 series... (same steel performance, Byrd has cheaper price).

As for the Espada, I was looking at the catalog and it seemed something was strange: The longest model has the "wave" feature, but the smallest one doesn't. Now it seems to me that it's kind of ridiculous to try and "wave" open the big blade on the Espada (the longer one it's like what, 8 inches?) unless you're Shaq or something...

And the Lawman looks like a tamer version of the AK-47 (i have both G-10 and Alum) which isn't a bad blade, but I feel kind of redundant if i already have the AK. Maybe if they put the wave on the Lawman.

Really disappointed about the TI-lites though.

I ain't gotta bee in my bonnet. What I don't want this thread to become is a flame war against CS. Every thread ever started about the company on the BF's just seems to result in flamming the company. So what I wanted was honest opinions on the new release of models for CS and anyone with experience with them. Nothing more and nothing less. I value opions of people that have or have handled the knives they are coming out with. Except it seems they haven't hit the market yet so nothing to report on.

As for the keepem sharp thing I have pretty much ended all my posts with that, cause it is a knife site and people should keep there knives sharp and in this day and age keep themselves sharp and on alert. So keepem sharp

I don't think Longbow has a bee in his bonnet, he is just asking that people stick to the topic of the thread, not just flaming CS but also not just making general comments about the company or their knives. This was the question he asked. If it hadn't become clear that the new stuff is not yet out there (mostly) I'd have kept my yap shut myself. Personally of the new lineup it's probably the Double Agent I'll be picking up, when I can.

I have to say the espada's are tempting just because of size but on a college campus not so much. I also have to say the knife market is the only one I have ever seen where manufactures msrp of 115 means 70 on the market.

actually a lot of markets are like that, the only thing are these big-box mall retail stores that ruin the consumer's thinking that MSRP = street price.

you can get electronics, cars, musical instruments, etc all at much lower than MSRP if you shop at the right places.

Same with knives, if you buy them at those mall stores then you will pay MSRP, if you buy them from a good place like warriors and wonders (for Canadians) or New Graham Knives (for USA) it's much cheaper.
