Anyone protect their carbon steel with Eezox?

I have used Eezox with good results on some of my firearms. I am wondering if anyone has used it on their carbon steel edc or outdoor blades.

I use Eezox and/or Sentry Solutions Marine Tuf cloth interchangeably - I have found nothing that beats it for steel protection.

Both firearms & knives. I used to live in a very high humidity area & these products solved corrosion problems.

Both are great products!

Eezox is my favorite rust preventive on carbon steel. I use it on both knives and swords. I find it gives superb protection, doesn't evaporate and tends not to collect much dust compared to other liquid products.

I use Eezox on all of my blued weapons and blades. Great stuff, often hard to find (I have to order it) and smells TERRIBLE IMO.

Somewhere there is a pretty comprehensive test on various rust-preventatives on steel exposed to saltwater, rain, etc. IIRC Eezox was one of the best, next to grease or cosmoline (who wants to put that on their blades?).

I've been using if ever since reading this test. Works great for steel liners too, which tend to get forgotten.
I agree about the smell. Not bad really, but so overwhelmingly strong as to be offensive. I usually wear a mask when applying to avoid it.

When I used to clean and lube my guns with Eezox, I would place a table fan to one side, set on low and didn't have to smell the stuff nearly as strong.

Frog Lube and Break-Free came in a close second and third in the rust prevention competition. I now use Break-Free on my guns and Eezox to protect knives and swords. The Break-Free seems to be a better lubricant and Eezox gathers less dust.

Thanks for posting that!

I found that if you like your folders to work like they have glue in the pivot, use Eezox. It stinks as a lubricant.

To protect your carbon steel knives from rust, however, there really isn't anything better except a wax.
