Anyone Put Skate Board Tape On Their All Ti Folders?

How does it ruin it? Are you saying it physically alters the titanium?

Haha relax. I’m saying that , in my opinion , putting grip tape on a titanium handle would ruin the look and slick appearance of the knife. Not to mention that getting the adhesive off (should one try to remove the tape) would be a pain in the ass.

Gotcha, the way you replied made it sound like it was actually messing with the titanium. I thought maybe some tape you had used had some kind of crazy adhesive that pitted the handle. And yes, most of the time it doesn't look good.

I’m sure there are types of grip tape that will leave no residue when removed but I’d question how well they would stick to the knife and hold up to constant handling.

Of course , it’s been many years since I’ve set foot on a skateboard so maybe there have been big improvements in the grip tape world since the late 80’s :)

I use small circles of grip tape on my SS Police, and Code 4. I trace around a dime. It is a good size, and looks ok.

You could always scratch 'em up for some texture...maybe even get fancy with it;)

Now I'm wondering if kids are putting Ti on their skateboards nowadays.

I have always put knife blades on mine.

That said, I wonder if anyone has tried cohesive bandages/Vet Wrap as grip tape...now I am thinking about it.

My Microtech Scarab came with grip tape on the handle, but, I find it more of a pain since the tape chews on your knuckles and the back of your hand in the winter when you have your hands in your pockets.

Scarab is the bottom knife in the photo.

Good Morning Glenn, I am interested in the bottom knife for my Dad. We started collecting together after he lost his leg and his kidneys were damaged. It’s been about a year but surgeries are on going and the hunt of finding his favorites and the people along with family are what keep him going through the pain. If you would consider trading or selling can you message me back please.

Have a Good Day and God Bless
