Anyone recognize this?

Wow!! That looks like an early one!

I would guess that it's definitely pre-Infi, but from what I can see of the stamp and the style on the cuts it definitely looks genuine. Very nice piece!

Anyone else?

(and just to say that I had high bid for a little while...;) )

That is sweet. I know it's going to go for way more than I can pay right now. Talk about a crown jewel in someone's collection.

Does anyone have any idea why it says G.P. Busse?

I could be way off but I think I've seen a couple of other very early Busse's that said that.

Here's a pic of that stamp from BadMojo (in "Odds & Ends") ..

That is the early-'80's Busse Field Olive Knife Sticker (B-FOKS). It is probably made of A2 (or possibly of flattened CBL cans) for the enlisted troops, although it may have made appearance at officers' mess in an ATS-34 version. The double mini-choil/bottle opener was to prevent the olive from sliding all the way down the blade and onto the user's fingers, as well as to open two CBL's at once, since it tastes so bad you need a second one to wash the taste of the first one out of your mouth. ;)

The genesis of its design was that Jerry needed something pointy to spear the olive out of his martinis...... before he realized it was just hogging space in the 32 oz surplus GI canteen he was drinking them out of and decided to forgo the olive altogether, which was very shortly before he decided to eliminate everything else besides the vodka.
