Anyone regret stripping the coating?

Never had a problem with rust because I clean and dry them after each wet use.I also left the black coating on under my grips.

They look great new, out of the box, super bad in black, but they really look like the the great value, practical, reliable, no nonsense tools they are in just plain steel with a natural patina. As for rust, there is not much more to say than what Clich said above. Unless you're storing it outside, you should be fine with some common sense care.

I’ve only had one surprise rusting.
During a hike with my daughter, I had the mouth piece of my camelback rubbing against the handle of my EsKabar which caused some water to leak down in the handle and into the stock sheath. After getting home, I pulled the blade a few hours later and found quite a bit of rust on the blade. This is my EDC and use it daily. I was surprised that it rusted so quickly, but some steel wool and a little elbow grease and it was good as new.

I really don’t like the coating that comes on the stamped Beckers. They seem brittle and almost seem to flake off. I plan on buying one of the shorts in the near future and will think about leaving this one coated, depending how the new coating looks and feels.
