There were these cheap (around $5) wooden handled knives that were popular in the mid to late 70's. These were the first knives that I can remember being able to "flick" open with a flick of the wrist. The best of these knives were marked 007. They didn't have thumbstuds, Teflon washers, or Bronze bushings. However, once broken in, they flicked open easily. Does anyone remember these knives?

Definitely check one of the opinels -good steel and holds edge well - swells if wet and hard to open and will rust - but well worth owning !
