Anyone see this knife review on Youtube?

I actually agree with some of the negative things said in the review. I just purchased a 670$ killa zilla. It's totally worth it to me, but I can get a nepali made khukuri that would work comparably well (with some edge modification) for under 100$. from the perspective of someone who doesn't have the money to spend, I don't think it's worth the price for the upgrade in strength and impact resistance. From the perspective of someone looking for the highest strength and impact resistance at high rc, you pay a premium to get the highest performance.

On the whole busse makes combat knives. not fighting, not woodsman, not skinning, not a lot of things. A good combat knife can perform all of them, but the "combat" portion requires them to be able to function as much burlier, less delicate, tools like shovels, hammers and prybars. You will lose the acuteness necessary to excel at finer tasks to achieve that. If you want something dedicated to any of those things (fighting, woodworking, skinning), there are other knives better suited for for each task.

Buy what best suits your tasks, your desires, and your budget.

you should put this in perspective and see that posters review of the Tom Brown tracker from Tops. that should just about end this debate. :D

No, a Busse is not for everyone. But for those where nothing but the best will do, people will buy a Busse. When someone wants something that if their life depended on it, they will buy a Busse. When someone wants a warranty that is for life because they are going to do stupid things with it from chopping trees down to going to cutting chains in the middle of the forest, to prying car doors open in an emergency, thats when they are glade they have a Busse. No, not everyone uses their Busse, but it's good to know you got it if you need it, and that's when you buy a Busse!

it seems this guys expertise is in the area of survival in general. he knows knives, but i think this video in particular is a loose review. he uses a handful of good knives and a handful of crappy knives. he doesnt talk much a bout steel, heat treatment or anything very technical, it seems that he lets the demo do the talking. to a layman who doesnt see the absolute beauty of a busse, they may find a lesser knife does what they need. his critique seems to be aimed at a those who dont know a bunch about knives. usually anyone who wants a busse doesnt care about the price, but to a person who is looking for a general purpose knife the price of a busse would be an turn off. its good to have a spectrum of knives to compare good to poor quality. i thought the review was good overall. his other reviews are really good. he is great at giving his opinion but also giving the viewer options to come to their own conclusions.

The Tracker review changes things a lot. If he were to buy a DogFather LE he'd be kicking himself for ever getting anything else.

At the $400 he payed for the tracker (and sheath) he could have a BWM with money to spare.
I'm pretty sure the FSH was not $400 from the factory, that sounds like a secondary market price to me.
