I'd actually like to know the answer to that question tho. Why would that stir the ****?

that guy posted not so nice comments about busse, jerry, and us, in another thread.

the wording looks inocuous, but i believe there is an underlying agenda.

but to answer your first comment, the winners in those contests have knives specifically designed for cutting rope. they are very long and very thin. the steel is probably very hard, at least much harder than infi.

im sure jerry would make a knife for one of them if commissioned.

but i dont believe a rope cutting contest would prove anything about the steel. a contest and a test/comparison are two different things.

Thanks, I guess that answers that then. Glad I didn't take the bait and respond to that thread!

Ask Jerry because he is likely the only one who knows. And that answer actually is the very same reason why the original poster who asked the question IS stirring the pot. Huh, isn't THAT amazing!

Too many uncontrolled variables to make any real comparisons from the results. It's a contest, for fun, more about style and method than, as MORIMOTOM already stated, about the quality of the knife or steel.

Jerry's original rope cut test attempted to minimize the variables.

So much for level headed discussion. :D

Now Jerry has to compete with 3lb sledge hammers and 36" prybars to be any good at all at impact or prying. To funny.

The only thing Busse's can cut, is a stick of butter!!!

JUST KIDDING!!!!

But then again I'd love to have a 36in, 3 lb. knife made of INFI. Just not sure it would get much carry time in the woods.:D:D

I don't know the original source of the phrase, "Ignorance is bliss", but bearcut seems to really embrace ignorance.

I will post a vid shortly that I just filmed a few minutes ago. I'll bost it in bearcut's thread since it is for him.
