Anyone shave with their EDC?

I've said it before and I'll say it again.
Anyone who uses the term "Shaving sharp" should be forced to shave with that blade, for no less then a full month, at a minimum of 1 full shave per day.
That being said, I do shave with a knife or object with an edge, every once in a while, just for fun ( I have no idea on why I find it amusing)

No way. I use feather blades in a DE razor. No knife out there is sharper or better for shaving than a feather razor blade. Honestly I don't see the point. Knives aren't razor blades......

I never liked these wimpy Mach 3 and such because i shave like one or twice a week and my thick as hell hairs tend to ruin these #%** cartridge in no time. I often shaved with my Chinook when i got it, that was before i started to strop, so yeah 440v right from the sharpmaker is helluvah rough.
More recently i used my Caspian Salt sharpened at around 20 deg inclusive and it really worked quite fine, last year i bought a Dovo special and this thing obviously works very well but i still think ill go wild and drop my Caspian to 15 deg and go on with it as i just love to use a Spydie.

Yep, no question about that but being a knife and sharpening nut, we do like to try different things. Why does Murray Carter shave with a knife sharpened on a cinder block? Not because the cinder block is the best tool to sharpen with and certainly not because the knife is the best tool to shave with but simply to show that it can be done.

BTW, lots of guys also say that no razor blade can beat a good quality straight razor sharpened by a honemeister. ;)

Was staying over at my friends house once, woke up pretty early and decided it would be fun to try and shave with my Blur, extremely rough shave, bled a little. But overall was a entertainingly terrifying experience lol

I try it occasionally when I think I've gotten a knife really sharp. But I don't try to shave my whole face, just to see how it does. I will also use my knife when I miss a spot and it is annoying me and I'm not home.

That's exactly what I do as well. Though I don't sharpen my knives with a mirror edge much, I like a rougher toothy edge so I don't try and shave with my edc very often.

Sure,why not?

Lot's of urban legend there. I've gotten several razors from "honemeisters", and they were no sharper than my own. And a Mach 3 beats us 9 times out of 10. Not always, but much more consistent. Modern technology really does work.

Used to shave with my S30V Military a few years back, when I used to EDC it.
Also shaved with my Sebenza and ESEE 3.

Dude, I use a dovo straight razor from solingen ger, and even that I worry is not sharp enough after a year. I'd have to be real hard up to want to shave with my edc. Though I DID just get a sebenza for Christmas (my lady is awesome!) so if I'm lubricated well enough I might try it. If I do, I'm sure I'll post some bloody pics. A razor and a knife are two very seperate things.

I have done away with disposable razors and always shave with my EDC, dry. So used to it after many years.

Sanrenmu 763, Sanrenmu B4-710, Enlan EL08, Resilience, Enlan EL02, all have taken turn. Except for EL08 and Resilience (factory edge + stropping), all have been resharpened.

What's the point achieving hair whittling sharpness and not use it to shave?:D

Whittling isn't what you want for a shave though. You want the tree topping edge that'll shave your arm just by touching the blade to the hair :p

Speaking of shaving and tough beards, has anyone seen the 'Man of Steel' trailer? What does Superman shave with?

Murray Carter wants to sell knives.

Have you ever held a feather razor blade? Theres no way a straight razor is going to cut better because the edge is thicker. Straight razors are nice because the edge can last a lot longer than 3 or 4 shaves.

I'm sure people enjoy scraping their face with their edc. I, however, won't be doing that when there are much better tools available.
