Being that it is so thin and light I was figuring on a real thin sheath maybe only 2 or 4 layers of leather thick, what are your thoughts? The PS is going to be a great hiking and all around outdoors knife.

I emailed Armoralleather, but I haven't gotten any reply. I'm having a kydex sheath made by Mashedcat:thumbup:

Had some simple, yet functional leather Pork Shank Pants fashioned by a local leather guy. They do the trick just nicely I reckon...

No worries 3one5, its just BF rules, those of us who support the site with our memberships very rightly should get a few perks. :) Its not an expensive outlay for the coverage it provides and you help support the community that we all enjoy.

Disclaimer: I am NOT connected with Busse in any way, my information is simply as a service for BF, not Busse. I do not work for them nor get compensation from them. My opinion does not reflect those of Busse Combat.

I'm pretty sure he's indicating that he is not in the business of making sheaths to sell them for a profit.

I work on all my own motorized methods of transportation which costs much less, but that doesn't mean I'm trying to sell mechanic services to you through this forum.

I think it's just a simple misunderstanding not requiring the involvement of forum police or "GOTCHA" gooches.

:)

Leatherman, I would enjoy seeing what you've done for Pork Shanks or hearing your ideas for the svelte blade.

I'd like something simple to be worn horizontally SOB. I like the protective flap of most Chuddy Bear sheaths. I'd like a reversible retention snap-strap so that it could be worn for right hand or left hand draw, which would also require the knife to be inserted either way. Then I would like for it to have a 'traditional' beltloop so that it could be worn vertically.

I make this work well with kydex, but I will have to find a great way to explain it to a leather sheathmaker.

PLEASE NOTE: In this thread, I am NOT requesting services from any sheathmaker, nor am I offering to sell anything or provide services for payment. :)

I havent seen an ambi kydex yet, I'd love to see it when its done, please do post pics when it arrives! :) I love to see innovative designs.

huh ? not to de-rail but huh ?

Most kydex is ambi, or sideways, or upside down or RH or LH or otherwise, you just have to put the tec-loc on the other side ?

maybe I am misunderstanding what you mean by "Ambi "? does it mean usable on both sides of the body by either a Lefty or a righty ?

If yes then most of mine will work that way :)

On second thought, never mind, its a lose lose situation, nothing to see here.

Im pretty sure my 1 sentence -the spelling error was pretty clear/undramatic/ungotcha.
No forum police or gotcha here, but if you wanna complicate things feel free. He broke a rule, I gave him useful insight, take it or leave it. I could care less if hes in it for business, rules are rules. And though he might not be in it for a profit, some here who actually support bladeforums, are and dont need it taken away by someone who says his stuff is half the cost :)

PS, Max, Im sorry for cluttering up your thread.

I didn't understand it as him pushing sales. I saw it as him making his own sheaths for half the price.

My bad. Let's throw him in the stockade for a two days. :)

Did somebody say Pork Shank???

! ! ! I need a sheath ! ! ! I want a leather sheath ! ! ! and a kydex sheath ! ! !

Below are kydex, and ambidextrous are they. I realize leather might require a different approach, but I know of one sheathmaker who has made an ambidextrous leather sheath.

I disagree but its all good. If me pointing someone in the right direction is perceived as anything but then I must not have the right approach. Not trying to create bad vibes so if I did, please accept my apology Ill buy beers & bacon for everyone next creek.
