Anyone still carry the 3 bladed folding knives??

Jeff, I am drooling at the thought of your Dan Burke knives. They all sound wonderful. I've been collecting primarily custom forged fixed blade hunters, but I'm developing a real interest in custom traditional folders.

I don't know if Mullin does a split backspring whittler, but these two bladed slip joint folders are SCHWEEEEET!

Chrome Vanadium= what steel??

Chrome vanadium is a very good carbon steel, it takes and holds a great edge (superior to my mini-AFCK in ATS-34). It is also much easier to resharpen. If you are looking for a good carbon steel stockman, don't forget the Eye Brand stockman (see my earlier post).

I carry various 4"+ closed 3 bld. stockmans with me or a smaller Swiss Army knife along with a locking folder most of the time. I usually use these for smaller more delicate cutting, ex: my fingernails or hangnails

Having the little Swiss Army knife the tweezers come in real handy too!

I too like the slip joints. I have a few nice ones by Bailey Bradshaw on my web site. Check em out and let me know what you think. When you go to my site, click on whitewing knives and at the bottom of that page is a small picture of my Bradshaw collection to click on and see the knives. The whitewing knives are some great slip joints also.

A couple of people have mentioned Case damascus in this thread. I am curious as to how it compares in use to other steels found in traditional such as 1095 and 440C. Is it a viable option for a using knife?
