Anyone top this "DON'T" incident?

On Monday night I had just finished sharpening a Smith and Wesson folder, and I decided to run through some pikali knife jabs.

I remember thinking to myself "This seems pretty stupid..." a split second before I drove the tip of the knife about 1/4" into the back of my thumb and it ricocheted off the bone. The funny thing is, I've done pikali drills many times before without issue. I swear I can hear my subconscious laughing at me.

I'm hoping I'll be able to get those stains out of the carpet eventually.

I was handling a Spyderco Terzuola @ a NYCKS a few years ago. I was sick as a dog, & shouldn't have been out in public, much less in close-quarters w/ zillions of fellow knifeheads, but I'm not missing a knife show dammit...
Anyway- caught a sudden, violent coughing fit & somehow cut the bejeebers out of my thumb. I tried to play it off as no big deal, but was bleeding like a stuck pig & walked off (after cleaning the knife & apologizing to everyone) w/ my hand jammed in a coat pocket & my thumb in a wad of used kleenex. Lesson learned.

The only time i remember cutting myself really bad was when i was in kindergarten. Probably about 6 years old then. I think one of the kids took out a box cutter and was showing off how it could cut. They were mimicking cutting their fingers. So me being a show off i took it from the person and cut my thumb on purpose. Damn, it didn't really hurt at first since it was razor sharp but i was bleeding quite a lot since it was kind of a deep cut. I didn't show the teacher and put my hand in my pocket throughout the day. Luckily we wore blue shorts.

I'm very careful with my knives nowadays. Everytime someone asks to see my knife i always have to say 'careful, it's sharp'. Most of the time people who actually want to look at my knives are very careful. They don't try and test the knife's sharpness.
