Anyone tried putting new scales on a black Southard? Here are some examples . . .

Red C-Tek (courtesy of the uber-awesome cool dude, spketch) looks pretty swell on a black Southard, though you can see clear through it in bright light:

As much as I love the red C-Tek, I have to say the one that really grabs me so far is the white mother of pearl Kirinite scale (also courtesy of spketch):

spketch works in C-Tek, at least I know he has twice.

It's a normal STR clip that I sanded down and then painted with a matte black hard use enamel (it's held up well so far, but I haven't carried it that many times).

Do me a favor. If the mood strikes your fancy, mount your Ivory Snake Juma scale on that blacked-out Southard. I'd love to see what that looks like.

I love the Juma scale, it's one of my favorites, and it looks good with the black, but I think I prefer it on a normal Southard. That said, here's a quickie (sorry about the photo quality):

I absolutely love Ivory Snake Juma, but the silver twill against the black blade looks terrific as well. I've got to say, the Southard is one of the best knives for pimping I've ever seen. And you're to be thanked for bringing so many fantastic combinations together for us to look at. :thumbup: Keep on keepin' on, Greg!
