Those all look gorgeous man, seriously! I'm glad I've held off on buying a Southard as I much prefer these blacked out ones.

Just got my new Black Southard and I really like it as is. The black G-10 has the right balance of smoothness and texture plus it matches up well with the overall color scheme.
The flipper action is very smooth and perhaps a little snappier than the regular Southard. Even though there's no steel lockbar insert there are no sticky issues.
Blade is dead center and very sharp.
The coating is a bit of a fingerprint magnet but nothing too major.
Another excellent Spyderco Taichung production.
I'll be pondering scales but will look more towards some form of carbon fiber or black C-Tek or something in super dark gray / taupe...
Spketch has some black c-tek (the fine mesh version) in the works for me already, I'll add photos when it arrives in the mail.
And I agree with your assessment on the knife. My black Southard is a slightly snappier flipper than most. The coating looks and feels great, but as you've mentioned is a fingerprint magnet. I've used the knife, but haven't beat it up in any way that would test how easily the blade coating will get scratched up, and I'm not sure I'm in any hurry to either. I may keep this one as a pretty Southard more than a work Southard.
What happened to the pics of the black ctek??? Dyin to see this!
Very interested in seeing the black C-Tek on the black Southard.
I'm tempted to get a second Black Southard since it's only $230.35 this long weekend at KnifeWorks.
I really like it exactly as is for a user.
