No. You will only be maiming animals with very thin wire, and not killing unless you have made a really lucky shot. Even the bladed ones aren't good for much more than target practice.
Real native blowguns used poison to stop their prey, the dart was just a delivery system to break the skin.
I have to disagree on this one.
I have killed many squirrels, and birds with even my smaller .40 cal old blow gun (miss spent youth). In fact, I have killed squirrels with .40 cal beads and stun darts! No points or needles. I have killed a rattlesnake with a .40 cal blow gun (needle darts) as well. (the .625 would have been much much more effective!)
The CS darts, bamboo, mini broad heads, stun darts, and razor heads are a completely different animal (when compared to the old .40 cal I have used most my life).
The .625 caliber darts from CS are heavy, especially the broad heads!
There is a video where a kid kills a rabbit with a stun dart from one of the CS guns (not thinking it will do any harm).
Aside from from hunting, the professional grade blowguns from CS are a serious piece of metal! They are heavy, rigid, and if you swung one with bad intentions at some one you would break bones (skulls included). They have to be held to be appreciated!
With a heavy rubber end cap on, it would make a killer walking stick, capable of real support! The plastic end cap it comes with won't hold up forever.
I bought two of these a few Christmas's ago, and love them!
