Anyone tried the Cold Steel Bowie Machete?

yep. use it often. it comes usually with a horrific burr you'll have to remove. steel is a bit soft, but takes a decent edge and works fine for hard use.

I have one, and I love it. Prefect size for my tasks, comfortable rubberized handle (its not a hard plastic like on older models), blade not wiggle like on tramontina machetes, quite sharp from the factory (you just need to take away the burr). Actually its not feels like machete, more like big hard use knife. I use it on fishing - cut brushes, chop small dead trees, batoning. I can recommend it without any doubt.

Oh yes, its a yardwork champion.

I have one, an 12 inch one and I love it. I striped the coating off to play around with forced patinas. It's a good small machete that can do knife task pretty good once you get the edge how you want it.

I have the 18" Cold Steel bowie and it has been very good for clearing brush around the house and clearing paths on my land, very durable and easy to sharpen. I also have the Kershaw camp 18 which I use more because I like the grip better but at half the price, the Cold Steel bowie is a great buy.

They're perfect for throwing into a tree, as proven by my brother here in this video :
