Anyone tried these?

Cool looks like a big one of these pencil torches or the little bigger version. The downside to the one you pointed out would be it doesnt ignite itself, same with the pencil one. The larger one has a little self ignitor. But either of these dont have flame control.

I bet any of these would be good to start a troublesome fire.

No, but I have used my pocket rocket stove to start a fire in the rain. Seems like a stove would be more versatile, except for using it upside down.

Quite a few times I have had to start a fire quick with hands so cold that they wouldn't function to well. On a wilderness hike or planned trip, the spark makers, fire bows and Magnifiers are fun to play with and work pretty well. However in a real emergency I want and need to start a fire NOW. In my pack I have a Bic lighter, a Zippo lighter, Waterproof/windproof matches, book matches and fire sticks with strikers on the end. I also have a Nasal spray bottle filled with alcohol and a tube of fire paste. As you see, nothing is more critical to me that starting a fire quick. I have cotton balls saturated with Vaseline. I have fire sticks which burn for 7 minutes. I have two packs one for me to carry and one for the wife. Both have means to start a quick fire. The packs only weigh about three lbs each.

I have the empty visine bottle, I was going to fill it with lighter fluid, but alcahol is multi purpose for wound cleaning. how does it compare for combustability?

It ignites very quickly . It burns hot and not to fast. One cotton ball soaked in alcohol will burn for several minutes. A little more on the wood helps too. I also carry a nasal spray bottle with peroxide for would treatment. I carry yarrow and Cayenne tablets for bleeding and wound disinfectant. Soak a cotton ball with alcohol and put it in a foil pan in the sink and light it. Time how long it burns. The Nasal spray bottles work well because you can get a mist with them as well.
