Anyone tried this San Mai bar stock from this EBay seller?

I'm a hobbiest grinder who just dabbles. I simply like the aesthetics of San Mai. I'd also have the novelty of making a knife with Hitachi Shirogami as the core (if it is indeed Hitachi White #2).

The price is right, but I've always heard it was nearly impossible to get Hitachi steel in the U.S., so I'm a little suspicious.

Yep. He was on the forums for a while. Hes a great seller, legit steels and it even comes with a data sheet.
