Anyone use a Bison Designs survival pod?

It doesn't look like something a mere mortal could take apart and then put it all back together again. If I'm right, then there's no way to tell if the ferro rod is coated or not. If it's not, I'd be concerned that it might corrode.

Even if it corroded - in a survival situation you only need it to work a few times. I can't imagine it would corrode to nothingness.

I don't like the serrated blade - and I think Brian could make something better - but it looks interesting.

I think the serrations are for fire-striking against the flint. Probably very useful since the flint is only 1" long.

I like this idea.

I was assuming for some reason that there is a capsule involved. I thought that's what I was seeing beneath the knots. There's no mention of a capsule, though. I wonder if it's the duct tape that is keeping moisture off of the jute tinder and the rod?

Cool idea. Never seen this before. I bet someone here can up the quality on the design. I don't really think that possibly could have so much paracord from the pictures I am looking at.
