Anyone use an S.A.S.S. Smock?

this is the older CDN Forces ventile jacket, modeled by my GF (face hidden for privacy reasons due to her work in a sensitive political environment)

FONLY will recognize this jacket:

Might wanna cover up the family photos in that case.

There is a lot to be found on the SASSKit Smock on bushcraft uk!

I went for a cheap alternative, the UK standard Issue Windproof Smock. Tough as nails and cheaper than dirt - pretty impressive garment!

If I could get one in OG I'd probably go that route.

you can't get 'em. the UK forces have had a couple of DPM uniforms before you get to plain Greens. black is only around in smaller quantites, due to it's issue to the MOD police (or is the the royal millitary police? one of the two)

you might find comercial repros, although quality may well be lacking...

Guys, thanks for the feedback on the S.A.S.S. smock. As I mentioned, I have a replica second pattern Denison smock from WPG.

(Older pics, without the manly beard I currently have. ;))

The Brit smocks are definitely old school but they work well when combined with other layers. I've found the Denison to be windproof, though since it's not made from Ventile it's not very water repellent. It goes great over a fleece. The biggest disadvantage to the Denison is that it's a pullover and I'd rather have a full zip front to make getting it on and off easier.
