Just curious if I could use copper sheet for the liners between the tools in a custom swiss army knife mod. Do you guys think this is too soft? the sheet itself is very thin, i think .025" and i was thinking it may not work. thanks for any suggestions guys.

I got a real old SAK, and wanted to keep it for sentimental value, and it needs a rebuild, so i was thinking doing the scales out of blue g10 and the liners from copper or brass, along with the torx 1/8" screws i will be using probably for putting it back together. I may do the scales blue g10 with the copper liner, before the midsection with all the tools(and liners of copper too of course), but i think some plain polished very thin just g10 slabs would look better. Any advice?

And then, maybe any ideas what i could coat the liners and all with so that it doesn't tarnish? I love the look of new copper.
