Hello,
I started a new thread because I didn't want to resurrect a 4 year old thread and suffer the wrath :)

Does anyone here use any limited edition Buck knives for everyday or occasional use ?

The reason I ask is I have a strict rule that I only buy knives that I will carry and use because I have a bad history of spending money on things to "collect", while emptying my wallet along the way.

I'm curious to what you guys and gals think.

Thanks, Mitch

Just what I was thinking. Glad he didn't do it.
As I've been posting photos for years of me using my limited edition and Club knives even prior to 4 years.
Here you go. This is one of a club model with D2 steel. DM

Here's 2 at work, one of Buck's / Cabela's Alaskan Guide 110 w/ S30V steel and the Bass Pro w/ CPM-154 steel. DM

Here's the club model w/ S30V drop point blade and paperstone 112. DM

I edc my CS 112 right along with the rest. To me it's just a slightly prettier 112 with a little upgrade in steel.

I used to EDC my Buck 501 until the day at the gym when someone got it out of my locker. Even still, I tend to use my custom knives.

I use my BCCI BG-42 301 as well as one of my Buck Custom Shoppe 110's. Also use my custom shoppe 501 and my LE Lochsa

I carry knives mostly on hikes and hike two or three times a week. I buy a lot of knives because (I tell myself) I am looking for the perfect hiking knife, or the perfect hiking knife for possible situations. Most recently I have begun carrying a Custom Buck knife, the 120B01. It is marked "Custom" on the blade. Since it is a limited run and since I like it a lot I just ordered a second one.

On the other hand I have in the past looked for the perfect 124 to carry occasionally. I ran across one recently with a stabilized wooden handle, mirror finish and turquoise inlay below the guard. It is stamped Custom and 170/250. This is definitely the prettiest 124 I own. Would I carry this on a hike? I thought I might if the guard and pommel were made of something more scratch-resistant than aluminum, but upon inspection I think they are probably aluminum -- just highly polished aluminum; so I don't plan to carry it.

Some people would say I'm a collector. I have eight 124's, eight 119s (two custom that I probably won't hike with), five 120s, three 639s, one 619, and one 119BRS1 Brahma. I don't think of this as a collection -- just different knives to choose from before going on a hike. :D

Thanks all !

Like I said, I only buy knives I carry and have these 3 Customs in my inventory. I don't have any Limited Editions yet, but I do have my eye on one.

G10 110, American Oak 110, American Oak 505 Knight

The 505 Knight is for when I'm at work because the 110 tends to scare people around here.

David, you ain't afraid of using yours ,lol,I like that, some of them are pretty to look at,but they are also begging to be used.lol

Nice looking pics of guns and Bucks!
I like those Oak ones too. I had thought a brass and oak or brass and walnut would make a nice looking hunting knife but I was afraid the other woods might look too much like the diamondwood so I didn't really want to pay the extra money.............but I see that isn't the case. That oak really stands out.

I've carried this one every day since I got it. 110 with a CPM S30V drop point blade, nickel silver bolsters and cherry wood scales. Wouldn't want to be without it.

I carry a Damascus/Paradigm LE quite often.

Most of my edc's have upgraded steel or covers, but not necessarily LE Buck knives.
