Anyone use their satin finish blades hard?

Satin + scratches = LOVE

You got that right...

I haven't used it to split bricks or cut through a car door or anything like that, but I used my FBMLE for hurricane clean up (post Ike) and have cut down more than a few trees with it.

Looks like TTKZ

I dunno. It looks like that one actually cuts wood. I tried chopping with my TTKZ and was shocked at how ineffective it was. One of these days I'm going to have to send it in to Garth for the reprofiling job.

I don't know if i have a pair big enough to beat up blades that purdy. I need to get some satin infi and find out

I don't have many photos but yes. I use my sos nmfbm, bear cub, b10 for all camping tasks. They all reside in kydex also.

you guys are killing me :( :( :( :(

I'm super OCD, I liked hand polishing my boots (rather than get them polished) and I was proud to have the shiniest boots in the unit. Oh, and while my medical stuff was going through and I could work, I was in a tool room with a fellow OCDer (the military loves us :) ) checking for the beginnings of corrosion in all types of hand tools for aircraft going overseas, I'm talking rust in between the teeth in a socket bit :D

I took some photos of mine, but now I can't find my dang camera... Mine look like knifermans, I'm thinking he uses leather sheaths and some kind of wax, like I do.

Under care, it holds up very well. You can also send it in for a "spa" treatment if it get's too dirty for ya, so it's all good.

I feel ya on the polished boots.. but I'll still beat my satin busses!

cutting that car door is a work of art,.. love to see hard use, IMO any knife can be sharpened to shave paper, but it would probably chip to shit if you did that...

I tried taking pictures of my blades, but my camera is horrible. Too bad too, I just did my own "flying" treatment on the edge of my KZII by accident on a fence that has taken me a few hours (so far) on my wicked edge to fix. The rolls looked pretty neat, almost like they were machine done and spaced evenly. I accidentally glanced three thick wires with the edge while swinging at a log, oops. I need to learn how Beef sharpens...

The next time you roll the edge, look at the roll very closely, best under magnification. Often the edge is just bent, not chipped out. If it really is just a roll, then securely clamp the blade, and use a hard smooth cylinder to firmly stroke the edge, as though you were sharpening. You might have to really lean on it. One can often push the rolled portion back in line with the edge.
