Anyone use WD40 on their traditional knives?

In 2009, Wired published an article with the results of gas chromatography and mass spectroscopy tests on WD-40, showing that the principal components were C9 to C14 alkanes and mineral oil.

Wired as in Wired magazine? Huh. Apparently WD-40 isn't the only thing in this thread with a wider repertoire then I thought. :confused::D

I too have used WD-40 to loosen gunked up folder joints.
 
I use it all the time for cleaning/ rehabilitating old knives. For regular maintenaince/lube I use mineral oil or honing oil.
