Anyone uses Minwax to stabilize wood?

IG how about some pictures of your set up and how you are doing it? :D

All I use is a 2 quart Mason jar and lid. I use a Foodsaver cover to pull the vacuum connected to my vacuum pump. I have a quick connect so when I release it the lid is suck right to the jar. You have to pry the lids off, once you are done. I keep the lip of the jar grease with Vaseline.

Anyone ever try to use a polyurethane finish to stabilize wood? Maybe instead of the B-72 like in IG's recipe.

I tried poly first and it made a mess of my belts. Clogged them up real fast.:thumbdn:

I was looking through all of this info and came across a post which had a link in it. The link was about a product called Wood Petrifier. I did a little bit of research on it and it seems that a product like this is used by a company in Florida to make pool cues. Do not know for sure but it sounds promising.

Yes Wade, Farmer Phil posted a link to this on the first page of this thread. It looks interesting but keeping in mind that it doesn't harden like the resin.

Let us know what you find out if you try it.
