I'm new here this may have been covered, if so I apologise.

I have a Ruana I bought about 1964 when stationed in Alaska in the Army.
I know they are collecters now, but they are so stout I don't think I'll ruin it by using it.
I think they are great knives & just wondered if anyone else uses them.
Sorry I'm picture illeterate.

I posted a video about Ruana knives. On here.

This knife gets used every hunting season. Has been for about 50 years or so.

Ruana uses Elk antler slabs for his handles, that knife has some well worn ones. and the handle is aluminum. John

I bought a militarized version. Couple weeks and I'll pick it up. Its on their facebook. Blued blade and micarta insert instead of stag. Different but cool.

That knife has seen years of use. It is aluminum with elk slabs. The handles are well worn but honestly I have a feeling Rudy would smooth them out quite a bit. The newer knives I've seen are much rougher than I ever remember that knife being.

I don't think my dad ever imagined that knife was a "collecter". He always used the devil out of it. From hitting the spine with a rock to break pelvic bones to leaving it in the sheath the when it wasn't being used. But, that knife has stood the test of time.

this knife and sheath are also pictured in Frank Towsley book 'The Hammer still Rings" . I must read for interested Ruana buyers/collectors.

Never seen one before. Looks very capable of being a dedicated hunting blade! Thanks for sharing
