I have my first few knives done and would like someone to test one out. Any experienced knife maker want to test it? It would be nice to know the hardness and just put it to hard use. It's 1084 I heat treated myself, 8" oal with 3 3/4" blade. It would be nice if you posted some pics in this thread of the use. I don't use fixed blades much I just like making them. My pics suck, but here are a couple.

Thanks,
Shayn

If it's meant to be used why would you put such hand chewing scales on it? That's so your hand won't slip? Dah, NO Frank

The first thing I saw was the handle....interesting look, but horribly uncomfortable to use.

I don't think the handles would be much of a.concern, since slipping is a bigger concern. I usually wear gloves, when doing any field work, though, so I'm biased towards grip being fairly aggressive... I think it'd do just fine as a tactical/utility...

That's the first thing I noticed too. But it seems a lot of people who turn out tactical knives think they have to have this type of handle. I'm not sure why that is.

I wouldn't really consider this a tactical knife. I just like the look of it, so I tried it. I may sand the corners down a little before I send it out to Leethal Cutlery for testing.

Don't worry about sanding it bro. I've used knives with scalloped handles and they are perfect for a user that uses gloves. Operators and servicemen request the scalloped handles alot because of that fact. To each his own though :)

I am not an experienced knife maker but I am an avid knife user, send me a message if you want an actual knife users 2 cents.
