Well I'm making my first folders and I have about everything except a carbidizer. I would like to avoid the lockbar insert path if possible. I just want no lock stick. I'm just a 15 y/o who doesn't have much funds so I need some advice or help. Also this need to be done in short notice by someone trustworthy. Thanks again

Perhaps you need CARBURIZING instead of carbidizing ? Carburizing adds a carbon rich diffusion layer to the steel. Why do you think the lock would stick ?

Hello mete thank you for replying. Well first off titanium is notorious of being sticky on folding knives and I wish to prevent that if possible. I thought you can get most of the lock stick away by having a really high grit finish but I thought putting a coat of carbide would take most if not all away. If carburizing is the proper term I will now say that thank you for correcting me. I thought carburizing was like the finish usually used on rifle parts called "melonite" and how would you go by putting a carburized finish on a titanium handle?

Well Bebe manufacturing calls their device a "Carbidizer", so I guess one could "carbidize" something using it... If you search on this forum, and elsewhere on the net, there are a couple folks who put together a DIY version of a carbidizer on the cheap

Yes, it is carbidize when you apply a layer of carbide on the surface. Carburize is when you add carbon to the steel surface (AKA case hardening).

CHKnives - You can't ask for someone to do business with you in this area. I will move the thread to Services wanted.

If no one has taken care of it for you yet then you can send it to me. No charge. PM me for details and, just so you know ahead of time, I would need your parent's okay before doing any work.
