Anyone willing to forge/roll down some L6?

Hey there, guys.

I'd really love to try using some L6 for a couple short swords and a Falchion I'm planning, but I don't forge and can't find it in 1/4" thickness. I may end up forging at some point in the distant future, but for right now I wouldn't trust my beginner's skill even if I did set up a forge. I want to use a steel known for its impact resistance, and don't want to mess it up.

I'm not sure exactly what I will end up doing; I may just go with S5 or CPM 3V or something instead depending... Or I may just bite the bullet and order 3/8" L6 from Carpenter and do a LOT of grinding. But, I was wondering if anyone here would be willing to forge or roll down some thicker L6 stock for me to save me some time. I know someone offered this service in the past, but the search function doesn't seem to be working right now.

Ideally I'd want a couple different bars; one 2" wide, and one or two that are 2 1/4" wide. Not sure how wide I'll need for the Falchion, but it might end up 2 1/2" wide. (and I may just use the 3/8" stock for that one anyway) Since I'd be shaping this almost entirely with smallish power tools and hand tools, I'd definitely want it to come annealed. I understand it may be difficult to get a spheroidized anneal on Crucible's L6, so am willing to go with Carpenter's if that's a problem.

I have no idea how much something like this would cost, so if you'd rather discuss this privately feel free to drop me an email.
Thanks.

Yeah, I thought the same thing when I called several months ago. But I spoke with them last week & they said they're out and don't plan to get any more 1/4" thick stuff. 3/8" is the thinnest they carry now. But, I did give them another call just to have them double check. Will let ya know if they find some in a dusty corner.

Carpenter called back- they don't have any L6 in 1/4" thickness, of any width or length.

I have gotten a generous offer from someone for the forging now, but thanks anyway guys.

take care.
