Anyone with the new Bone collector Grip?

The Bone Collector looks awesome. For me a bit too heavy for EDC, but sure a nice knife! I'd like to have one.

what's the blade length on that? Is that the small bone collector?

About 3 inches, and yes, is the small one.
Looks almost identical to the big one that T Schloz posted.

thanks for sharing the pics alberto that is indeed a very good looking knife, I love the two tone G10 handles and that backspacer is a nice addition!
The back spacer was not visible from the oficial pics, and is a very very nice touch indeed!

Nice knife! That 'mini' does not look all that small IMO. But I have learned for me I should buy a large before I buy a mini so if that is a mini the large must be LARGE!
My hands are embarasing small, but the knife is larger than I expected. Is a very nice size for me.

You bought one of the first production models nr 4 of 500. Benchmades from what I have heard if first production runs do not really become collectibles (someone can correct me if I am wrong) so you can use it!
Cool!
I really want to put this one in daily rotation!

Bump.

Since this knife has been around for a while can anyone give some more input?

Thanks!

I have the Mini and I love it; it is now my edc. I have never had a knife fit my hand so well, or grip so well. I have very small hands, but the slightly thicker grip works very well for me; it allows me to hold it firmly. And the G-10 ridges make sure you won't slip. I did some reasonably tough cutting of plastic and didn't realize how much effort I was using, the knife is that comfortable.

On the down side, I don't like the blade. While it came crazy sharp, the hole is a little small (after Spyderco!), I hate the bone collector logo, and I prefer a clip point. I had the blades swapped with one from a Mini-Presidio (thus voiding the warranty, by the way), and the knife is just fabulous.

Great review, Marthinus. I especially like that you updated it a couple times.

I absolutely love my mini. The "rib" pattern on the handle not only looks cool but is functional--it really adds grip. The ribbed backspacer also adds grip and looks cool. The two tone G10 is uncommon on production knives and also quite nice to look at. It's my second smoothest knife opening (behind a BM 940). The handle is a little chunky, which makes it really comfortable. The D2 holds an edge really well, and I love the amount of belly on the blade. The liners have jimping before the blade both up top and on the bottom before the blade, though it's too smooth to really work.

I only have two complaints. First, the hole is too low on the handle, which is a bit awkward, but it's not horrible. Being as smooth to open as it is makes up for it. While the hole is partially obscured by the handle in the mini version, from your pics Marthinus, it looks like that's not true on the larger model. Second, the black coating on the liners wears off and travels to the pivot and tang. The axis bar is also black, which makes the tang look dirty all the time.

A bad picture to show the size relative a few other knives (940, small Seb, Mini Bone Collector, HK 14210, Tinker, Mini Lawman):

It feels good in the hand, although not as comfortably as my ZT's, but the micarta doesn't shred my pockets like the G10.

The Green/Black combo is striking.

It is slightly wider than my ZT's w/G10, but no pocket or knuckle shredding.

Does anyone have the wood handled Bone Collector yet?

I dont think they are out just yet.

I love the look of the walnut handles. But Im not gonna buy one because it has that skull/antlers logo on the handle (and likely on the blade).

Its a shame too, because it would look great with my 870 police with walnut furniture.

Bone Collector actual use. We just skinned, gutted, and quartered a large four point Roosevelt Elk (about 600+ lbs). All with the Bone Collector folder. without any sharpening) it still shaved easily. With 200 plus knives, it is now my favorite. It is sturdy and incredibly sharp.

Here's my EDC Mini Bone Collector. I swapped the ugly split arrow clip out for a regular Benchmade clip with the black paint removed and added a Kwik Thumb Stud to it, now its perfect, the thumb stud allows better thumb purchase for faster opening and as an added bonus it acts like a wave opener if you want it to (and its better looking by far compared to the good old zip tie wave.) Anyway for me the Mini BC is awesome, the D2 gets SHARP, holds that edge for a loooooooong time and I find its not hard at all to resharpen/touch up. The G10 has a very grippy pattern with the "rib cage" cutouts, and the width of the handle makes it very comfy in the hand. It's quite a tough knife as well, I have had no reservations about beating the crap out of it and it hasn't skipped a beat yet.
