I am not a knife guy but instead have always been a multi tool person and found a knife by itself just plain useless. But lately after all these years I decided I would pick up a code four from Cold Steel and use with my daily work along side my multi tool I am carrying for the day and it has been nice to have with the kind of work I do.

So decided I would expand that and pick a folder for lighter duty like a frame lock and last week the wife was sick so I spent about 20 hours that weekend searching different knife companies and designs on websites and you tube videos. So I have come to the conclusion I do not like titanium knives in any fashion. Ti does not do it for me ever since I became a Dive Watch collector over a decade ago. I don't like plastic scales or what is called G10 I believe and the only exception would be my Victorinox multi tools. I have no reason behind that, it is what it is. I am not into all these fancy knife steels, if Victorinox steel worked all my life and was able to be easly sharpened and hold a edge just fine no need to waste my money on these super duper metals and just stick with a kind of metal that performs similar to what I know.

I found this knife and it called to me more than all others out there I could find with my limited knowledge. Stainless steel body or scales whichever it is called which I like over titanium, aluminum or the various plastics. I liked the blade steel it seems to be very corrosion resistant and just what I am looking for from my research. I really liked the way the blade hides away when folded away. I never cared about one handed opening with my SOG or Leatherman Multitools but the blade being on ball bearings is kinda cool. But the over all shape and design with what I mentioned above just all came together where I would have paid far more for it. I could only find one vendor in the states that had it and they had limited quantities so I purchased this knife just spoke to me. But I figured if anyone came up with a better knife than this one I might like more it would be here and I could just simply send back the Real Steel Puukko.

Hi there, TL!

Real Steel knives are still kinda rare in the wild, so I would say this is an opportunity.

Put it through it's paces, and post your thoughts and impressions. It's a rare chance to either spread the word that the Puukko is good stuff, or to warn people off.

I'm especially interested (as I may have mentioned before ;) ) in how the... whatever RS calls that blade bevel, works. I still think the steeper bevel angle near the ricasso is going to act like a stop, especially in deeper cuts. But this is the Internet, so I'm sure I'm wrong. :p

Well than I just may carry it with me for work over my Code Four for a few weeks and give my opinions on what I like and dislike about it if anyone cares? I have my own business and I do everything from minor electrical work, plumbing, re-keying locks, irrigation, cabinetry, screening, etc for real estate company's so my dedicated and multi tools get a lot of use.
