Anything I can do to smooth out the opening of my Persian?

Odd thing to report...I recently bought a 7V that had been made in 2014 and sitting NOS in the back of a brick and mortar store. The salesman told me before bringing it out it would likely be stiff and gritty. Oddly enough, it's smooth as glass right out of the box! Unfortunately lockup is pretty late (75%) for being new but the action is awesome. Not what is known to be normal at all!

I highly doubt any disassembly voids the warranty... I was under the impression that Mr. Emerson made it for hard use/military with the philips and flat heads specifically so that it COULD be disassembled. As a matter of fact, EKI recommends doing so AND some oil (here). While the washers are supposed to be self lubricating, I have found that they will certainly benefit from some oil :)

Well I ended up disassembling it. It was in need of some cleaning around the pivot, and on the blade surface around the pivot opening. So after some cleaning and some tuff glide on the washers AND detent ball(s), it is much smoother on opening. I also realized that this knife has a tremendous amount of side to side blade play if the pivot is not adequately locked down. So locking down the pivot is what leads to the less than smooth-as-glass opening. Im satisfied with my results.
