Anything similar to Busse for sub $100?

The cold steel recon scout in sk5 is a lot of knife for the money at about 100.00 or so.....

These have probably already been mentioned but I'd recommend Becker, ESEE and Scrap Yard.

Ontario RTAK II. These were sold for $60 new at one point. Good deal.

Or better yet save up a bit more and get ESEE Junglas

My vote goes to the RTAK II for best bang for the buck when it comes to big choppers/survival . 1095 is good stuff

You don't have to 'break the bank' to get a hard use fixed blade. Below, top down, are a KaBar, Gerber LMFII, ESEE RC-5, and Buck 650 Nighthawk:

The RC-5, at .25" thick, is the most stout - and - at ~$140 - also is the most expensive. All are US-made - and, unlike the Busse behomeths, come with a useful sheath. The LMFII was a gift - and my least favorite. Not shown - but a bargain at $34 from WallyWorld - the Buck 119 Special - a great user.
